Every mutual fund you hold across every folio, read out of your consolidated account statement: what you own, how it is spread, what it has returned, and what the funds themselves hold underneath.
Open the appOne request covers CAMS and KFintech folios together, so this is the only statement you need. Four settings matter:
Detailed — not Summary, which has no transactions in it01-Jan-1990 to todayThe PDF arrives by email, usually within a few minutes.
With your own email address. If somebody has shared their portfolio with you, sign in with the address they invited — that is the whole of the invitation.
Give it the statement, the password that opens it, and a keyword you choose. The keyword is not the PDF password and should not be the same one. It is what encrypts your holdings.
It appears once, on the screen after the upload. It is the only way back into your data if you forget the keyword. Put it wherever you keep passwords, and not in the same note as the keyword.
The first run reads every transaction you have ever made, fetches the price history of each fund, and encrypts the result. After that it opens in a second.
The one you chose on the CAMS form. Used to open the file, then thrown away.
Not storedYour browser turns it into a key and sends only the key, so the keyword itself is never in a request or a log. Nobody can reset it — not even whoever runs the site.
Keep itShown once, right after the first upload. The way back in if the keyword is lost. Without either one, the only fix is uploading the statement again from scratch.
Keep itInvite somebody by email and they see your allocation, categories and returns — and no amounts at all. Their copy never holds the figures, whatever is on your own screen. The invitation works only for the address you typed, so forwarding it grants nothing.
Up to five in one account, for parents or anybody whose portfolio you look after. Each has its own statement and its own guests. You see the name you gave it; a guest sees the name on the statement.
Prices refresh on their own. New purchases and redemptions do not — for those, ask CAMS for a fresh statement and upload it the same way. Once a quarter is plenty for most people.
Fifteen minutes without activity and the page asks for the keyword again. Closing the tab has the same effect: the key lives in that tab and nowhere else.
Almost always the statement was Summary instead of Detailed, or the period started later than 1990. Ask CAMS again with those two corrected — the second request is quicker than the first.
